“The Baby Project” – research on infant mental health.

The Institute of Psychology at the University of Silesia in Katowice is conducting an international research project entitled “Mental health of infants: adaptation of measurement tools, identification of risk groups, and correlations with the mental state of parents.” The study will cover 200 parent-child pairs and aims to adapt two international screening tools to Polish conditions, which allow for the assessment of the emotional and social well-being of the youngest children. The project is funded by the National Science Centre and carried out with the participation of experts from Poland, Denmark, and France. The results of the research will be used to introduce effective early prevention methods into clinical practice and primary health care.

 

Parents of infants wanted for scientific research!

The Institute of Psychology at the University of Silesia invites parents and caregivers of infants to participate in a unique scientific study carried out as part of an international project, funded by the National Science Centre. The aim of the project is to develop effective tools for the early diagnosis of the mental well-being of young children.

Who are we looking for?

Parents or guardians of children aged 8 months to 1 year.

 

Where is the study taking place?

Józefów – Mazowieckie Province

Silesian Province: Gliwice, Zabrze, Siemianowice Śląskie, Mysłowice, Katowice

 

What does participation involve?

– A short interview with the parent.

– Observation of the child while playing.

– Recording a short video (made by the parent).

 

Who is conducting the study?

A psychologist specializing in working with infants and supporting families.

What do we offer participants?

– Educational materials on the mental health of young children,

– Consultation with a child psychologist,

– Remuneration: PLN 70 gross,

– Participation in an important international project that can realistically improve support for

the youngest children.

The study is completely safe, approved by the Ethics Committee, and conducted by experienced specialists.
